As part of activities towards marking the year 2021 Youth Conference, the National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN), EPE branch will assemble experts, government officials, royal dignitaries in Lagos to discuss the state of insecurity and the role of youths in Lagos.
The event, which is themed; Insecurity and Social Vices: Youths on Call, started in a grand style with a Jumat service held at the Epe Local Government secretariat mosque. Yossy Info brings you live updates of the event as it spans for five days, between December 3 to 12, 2021.
Jumat Service: Ladele speaks on conference
Speaking after the special Jumat session was the branch Coordinator, Comrade Ladele Ismail Oluwaseyi who noted that the session was staged to commemorate and officially kickstart the Year 2021 youth conference of the council. He further mentioned that the importance of prayer to our current state cannot be overexpressed noting that even though our society is filled with individuals that are overtly religious and not being Godly, there is a need for us to seek the good face of the Almighty God by praying for the Epe community and the nation at large.
Furthermore, he stated that the theme of the conference tagged “Insecurity and Social Vices: Youths on call” is a significant topic that will help address so many of our societal challenges, that have over time engulfed our day-to-day lives.
Speaking further he noted that the conference being an annual event usually organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Epe Branch has over time become an avenue for youths to display their potentials, pointing out that this year’s conference is embedded with a series of mind-blowing activities.
Comrade Ladele also noted that even though the conference has been a tradition passed to the current administration by its predecessors, the event will also avail the incumbent administration the privilege to appraise its activities with a view of achieving more to benefit the youth constituent. However, he enjoined all youths in Epe to partake in all activities that will be held all through the period of the conference.
He concluded by intimating that the conference will register the presence of high profile individuals from all spheres of professions, stating that the youth council is looking forward to will learning and getting inspired by these individuals.
