Following the inauguration of the 25 members of the European Union Youth Sounding Board (EU YSB), Rafiat Atanda, one of the members, who is an alumnus of the Lagos State University (LASU), has emerged the spokesperson of the board.
Rafiat will take on the role of speaking on behalf of YSB especially on external communications; for example, social media dialogues and communication related to YSB publicity. She will also effectively communicate to external & internal stakeholders giving confidence in the work of the YSB.
The European Union Youth Sounding Board is a novel and incredible initiative of the EU that aims to create a space for meaningful involvement of young people in the EU’s partnership with Nigeria. It will enable active engagement and exchanges between the YSB, decision-makers, the EU Delegation and its Member States.
EU YSB in Nigeria members are 25 and they are expected to serve for 2 years. The board will be engaging young people in their various communities, and advise the EU Delegation in Nigeria on Youth Participation and Empowerment, and on a broad range of topics such as Employment, Education, Training and Entrepreneurship, Environment and Climate Change, Human Rights and Democracy, Peace and Security, Digitalisation and Technology, Gender, Social Inclusion and Health, as well as Culture, Arts, Media and Journalism.
YSB creates opportunities for young people and youth organisations to express their views, connect and exchange.
